Location Data

Our application, schoolshree, uses the device's location information to provide school transportation and bus-tracking functionality.

How We Use Location Data

Depending on the user's role and the features enabled for their account:

• Drivers: The application may access the driver's device location to determine and transmit the current location of the school bus while the driver is performing an assigned school bus trip.
• Students/Parents: The application may use location information to display the current or approximate location of the assigned school bus and provide bus-tracking information.
• Administrators: Authorized school administrators may access bus location information through the application for monitoring and managing school transportation operations.

Location information is used only for school transportation, bus tracking, safety, and related operational purposes. We do not use location information for advertising or sell location information to third parties.

Background Location

When required for active school bus tracking, the application may access the driver's location while the application is running in the background or when the application is not actively displayed on the screen. This is necessary to allow authorized students/parents and school administrators to receive the current school bus location during an active trip.

The application does not continuously track a driver for purposes unrelated to school transportation.

Collection and Transmission of Location Data

When location tracking is enabled, the application may collect precise device location information, including GPS coordinates, and transmit this information to our secure backend servers for the purpose of providing school bus tracking and transportation services.

Location data is transmitted using appropriate security measures, such as encrypted HTTPS connections where applicable.

Sharing of Location Data

Location information may be made available only to authorized users and service providers who require the information to provide or support the school's transportation and bus-tracking services.

Depending on the user's role and authorization:

• Bus location may be visible to authorized students/parents associated with the relevant bus or route.
• Bus location may be visible to authorized school administrators.
• Authorized transportation personnel may access location information for operational and safety purposes.

We do not sell personal location information to third parties.

Location Permission

The application requests location permission only when it is required for the relevant school transportation or bus-tracking functionality. Users may manage location permissions through their device settings. If the required location permission is denied or disabled, certain bus-tracking features may not function correctly.

Location Data Retention and Deletion

Location information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide school transportation services, maintain operational records, comply with applicable legal requirements, or resolve disputes and security issues.

When location information is no longer required, it is deleted or securely disposed of in accordance with our data retention practices.
